Privacy
The short version: your photographs are yours, we keep them only as long as promised, and we never share them or use them to train anything.
Your photographs
Photographs you upload as a customer are stored securely and deleted after 90 days. Free-sample photographs are deleted after 7 days if you don't buy the restoration. They are never shared, never sold, never used to train any model. To restore a photograph we send it to a commercial AI restoration provider under terms that do not permit training on your images; if you order prints, the print file goes to our New Zealand print partner to be printed and posted, and nowhere else.
Your details
We keep your email address so we can sign you in and send you your photographs. If you order prints we keep the delivery address and phone number you give us for that order. Messages sent through our contact form are kept until answered and dealt with. We don't buy, sell or swap personal information, and we don't send marketing you haven't asked for.
Visits
We count visits two ways. Our own server keeps a simple count (it never stores your IP address). We also use Google Analytics to understand which pages help and which confuse — configured with IP anonymisation, with Google's advertising features and ad personalisation switched off. It measures pages and button presses, never your photographs.
Because we advertise on Facebook, Meta's Pixel also runs on the site: it tells us whether our ads led to a visit or a purchase, and it shares that with Meta for ad measurement. It never sees your photographs. If that sits poorly with you, an ad blocker stops it without affecting the service.
We also use Microsoft Clarity to watch how the site itself behaves — where a page confuses people or a button goes unfound. It is configured to mask what you type and what you upload; your photographs are never part of a recording.
Your rights, and who we are
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your photographs and account at any time — email support@faces.nz and a person will do it. Faces is operated by ISURF Limited, a New Zealand company. Privacy questions go to the same address and are answered by a person.
